 GLOBAL CONFERENCE ON WATER
Singapore’s experience in addressing its water Challenges has helped the nations build strengths in water management. As a global hydro hub Singapore has successfully hosted the Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) since 2008.A  global platform for water solutions, it brings policymakers , industry leaders, experts and practitioners together to address challenges,showcase technologies, discover opportunitesand celebrate achievements in the water world.
                From July 4 to 8,  More than 10,000delegates from all over the world will gatherhere for SIWW 2011.
                Themed “Sustainable Water Solutions for a Changing Urban Environment “, this year’s event Addresses the challenges cites face in the light Of rapid urbanisation's and population growth.
                At the water Expo, visitors can learn more About the Singapore Water Story, as well  as visit the global pavilions showcasing the latest in water Innovations. The water expo is opened  fromjuly5 to 7. Visit www.siww.com.sg  to register.
                Another highlight of the week is the Lee Kuan Yew Water Prize, which honours Out standing contributions toward solving global. Water problems by applying technologies or Implementing policies and programmes which Benefit humanity. This year, Dr James L. Barnard
Has been awarded the Lee Kuan Yew Water Prize.
                Dr Barnard has revolutionised the water Treatment industry over the past 40 years through The use of naturally occurring microorganism to Treat waste water.the resulting water is safer for Discharge into lakes and rivers, thus helping to protect global water resources.
